Customer Series, 2016

Oil and Acrylic

24x18 Inches

Twenty one paintings created during my Strip performance; which was a month long research project where I worked at a nearly deceased  Gentleman's Club by the Pier of New York City. This club was past its prime, no one came to this deserted place to party or celebrate. These customers came looking for something to fill a void. These  portraits of customers are painted from memory the morning after a shift. The gloom that lingers in the photos is derived from their sadness and mine. At the end of the month I started to call them my Sad Boys.
